Save the date January 20-27, 2019 for the 27th annual Whistler Pride and Ski Festival.
Named the #1 Gay Winter Event (2016 & 2017) by GayTravel.com, Whistler Pride is gearing up to welcome back gay men and women from 26 nations making this Winter Pride festivals one of the planet’s biggest and best.
We invite you to come together to celebrate diversity and to explore the incredible 8,176 acres (3308 hectares) of pure skiing and riding bliss with some runs boasting a spectacular thigh burning vertical mile, the biggest and longest in North America. The 2018.19 season will see some $66-Million capital upgrade to Vail’s newest crown jewel – Whistler Blackcomb. Upgrades include: On Whistler, a new six-person Emerald Express chair will make life in the Family Ski Zone easier, while a high-speed, four-person Catskinner chair adds laps to your day on Blackcomb. Access to this mountain will also be faster, warm and dry, as well. A 10-person gondola, from the Upper Village to the PEAK 2 PEAK connection, will open the first fully-sheltered route up Blackcomb year-round. Sightseeing or climbing the Ascent Trails? Extend your stay. There’s a covered cabin for the ride down.
The village of Whistler is just at 2,000 feet (607 meters) and the Alpine peaks hover at 7,250 feet (2210 meters). An annual snow fall in excess of 33 feet (10 meters – in fact this past season Whistler surpassed the 10 year annual average snowfall with over 1,200cm!) makes for some sensational turns with the Whistler Pride volunteer ski guides leading you through the massive terrain. Travel writers and guests from around the world regularly refer to Whistler Pride as the friendliest on the planet. Now for the third year in a row SKI Magazine names Whistler Blackcomb #1 in North America.
